Red, White & Blue: What Will You Plan to Do?

It’s that time of the year during summer we all can look forward to: 4th of July weekend! With summer going strong it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the warm weather, celebrate with friends, family and fireworks. With so many ways to celebrate, check out  some ideas I’ve rounded up on how you can spend your 4th of July weekend.

If you’re going with a backyard barbecue or cookout, add some fun for adults and children. Here are some great games you can plan:

  • Scavenger Hunt – This is a great game for both to play, you can have them find something red, a firework, or even a hidden flag, the possibilities are endless.
  • Watermelon Eating Contest
  • Red White and Balloon Toss
  • Popsicle Stick flags – you can set up a table for kids, they can create their own flags out of popsicle sticks, super easy, super cute, super fun.
  • Trivia
  • Tug of War

Land of the Free and the Beach

Bring out the beach chairs, grill, and the fun times. If you’re looking for something new instead of the typical at home cookout, you may enjoy a relaxing beach BBQ.

Looking for a last minute bathing suit?  You’re sure to be a sensation in our swim! Here are some of my top swim picks so you can show your patriotic spirit:

Show off your red, white or blue in a classic one piece!

In the mood for a little fiery red? The Jesse has it all – and how fun is the ombré color that fades into fuchsia? If you’re a fan of prints, consider Gardenia – a retro inspired one-piece with eye-catching piping detail.

If you’re wanting to play with texture, our Melissa swimdress is made with all over lace and has a classic halter. Ooh la la!

Of course, with summer, skin is always in!

For a play on the stripes theme, I’m a fan of the Lupe Bikini – love!

If you’re wanting to go monochromatic, Artemis is the way to go. The side tie and halter tie details are also reminiscent of a rope style tie, giving it a nod to nautical style. Aye-aye!
