Makeup Tutorial: Picture Perfect Pearl

Pearls have been a classic staple in the fashion world. Embraced by everyone from Coco Chanel to Carrie Bradshaw, the luminous precious stone has a unique finish all its own.

Now pearls have made their way onto the beauty scene, with lots of options to help capture a pearl like glow. Check out my top beauty picks that pack a shimmer, and will help you achieve that pearly glow.

At First Blush

Our cream blush is a great way to add a natural flush to your cheeks and a lot easier to work with than you think. Not only does our cream blush give you that natural just-stepped-from-outside look, but it contains a beautiful pearl shimmer that adds a subtle glow.

Vintage Rose (top) and Frosted Primrose (bottom) are deeper hued pinks perfect for medium, olive or tan skin tones. Our No. 4 Foundation Brush works perfectly to help blend out your color flawlessly.

Pink Dust (top) and Cherry Blossom (bottom) are great for fairer complexions. Best of all, our cream blushers multi-task as eyeshadow and lip color!

Lip Service

While matte lipstick has been having a moment, lip gloss is destined for a come-back. Lip gloss is the easiest way to appear effortless and give your lips a quick boost of moisture.

I’m loving these shimmery shades in Rose Bouquet (top swatch), Ballet Pink (center swatch) and Blush Petal (bottom swatch). If you’re wanting a cooler tone, Ballet Pink (center swatch) has a silvery, incandescent sheen.

Blush Petal (bottom swatch) has a micro-gold shimmer, it has slightly more opacity for coverage vs. Rose Bouquet (top swatch) which is sheerer and has holo-graphic shimmer glitter quality to it.

High-light

As you may recall, our eyeshadow palette is a multi-tasking must-have. The shimmery white (bottom swatch) and ivory (third swatch from the bottom) hues in the second pan work beautifully not just along your lid and brow bone, but also as a highlighter for a strobing effect.

Just take a fan brush, and sweep it along the cheekbone and temple for an instantly gorgeous glow.

The shimmer copper tan shades (second and third from the top) have such a rich, natural look to them, between a copper and rose gold. These are perfect to create a shimmery smokey eye with or use on its own, adding your favorite eyeliner.

Our eyeshadows are so rich creamy these swatches were applied without primer so you can really see how much pigment they pack.

Mind Your Mani

(L to R: Tania, Shell & Wren)

With all the talk of shimmer and glimmer, it’s easy to forget about your nails! The perfect mani is an extension of your beauty look and a shimmer nail polish adds such an elegant touch.

I’m loving Tania (thumb and index finger); it’s got the right balance of a cool gray/taupe undertone with a gorgeous pearl-like shimmer and the coverage is incredible.

Shell (pinky), a darling millennial pink hue, and Wren (middle and index fingers) a silver shade, are on the more sheer side; the micro-glitter gives these a lovely finish. These are also great for brides too!
