For the first DIY we have pom-pom balloons. I just love these; they are cute, creative and I bet your guest will be amazed. One thing’s for sure, the kids will love these!
For this DIY you’ll need:
- Pom Poms
- Latex Balloons
- Hot Glue Gun
- Extra Glue sticks
- Helium tank(optional)
Start by blowing up your balloons to your desired size. Next, grab a pom pom and add a little dot of glue. Don’t worry about the hot glue popping the balloons! Only a small amount is needed.
Lastly, tie up your balloons with ribbon, placing them where you want. It’s that easy! You’ve created your own balloon pom poms.

One thing I like are banners, they add such an easy and festive touch, but I find they don’t always have the color, shape or the style I want so I make my own.
To make your own custom banner you’ll need:
- Assorted colored cardstock
- Ribbon or twine
- Hot glue gun or hole punch
To begin, cut your paper in any shape you would like. I cut my paper in triangles. After, you can either hole punch your paper on each of the top corners so you can slide the twine or ribbon, as pictured above, or you can glue the ribbon or twine directly across the top of each triangle, forming your banner.
All done! You can also personalize your banner by drawing letters or cutting them out with paper. Make it match your party!

One easy decoration and serving idea that requires very little effort and costs you almost nothing is purchasing a pail and shovel from your local dollar store and adding your chips inside. Guest can easily scoop out some chips onto their plates. Once the chips are done you can rinse out the the crumbs and hand it to the kids to play with them!
Summer’s in Bloom
Fresh flowers always add something special to any occasion and instantly brighten up a room. What’s great about flowers is that there are endless options to choose from during the warmer months. Roses convey a classic, sophisticated feel, or if you want something more casual, you can go with sunflowers or daisies.
This centerpiece was super easy to create by purchasing a dozen roses at my local grocery store. From there, I added 6 blooms per square vase. For a little flair, I added a few drops of red food coloring to make the water pink. Of course, the finishing touch was recreating that iconic fragrance label for the little guest of honor.
The last DIY idea I have for you is making your own photo frame.
All you need is:
- Foam board
- Variety of faux flowers
- Hot glue gun
- Box cutter
- Scissors (optional)
- Pencil (optional)
Take the poster board and cut about 2 inches all around to imitate a frame with your box cutter. I outlined mine with a pencil so I can get the exact size I liked. Then you simply take apart the flowers from the stems. Feel free to cut any excess with your scissors, if needed.
Next, glue the flowers in any style you desire add some stems and leaves to it. You can add much more like ribbon, bows, letters or even stickers. Get creative!
