The Classic

I love a classic pink lip for the simple reason that it looks and feels effortless. With the recent popularity of Millennial Pink, it’s a shade that’s universally flattering and gives you an effortlessly polished look.

For a casual and dressed up look, take a walk on the lighter side like Emma Stone and try our Petal Pink velvet lip color. Pair it with our Lip Definer duo in Petal Pink / Pink Rose for the perfect definition. You won’t be able to keep from smiling. ūüėČ

Thoroughly Modern Matte

Matte lips have been having a moment for the past few seasons, with no signs of slowing down. There’s no denying that when you think of matte lips, the first name that comes to mind is Kylie Jenner. While she helped popularize the trend with her millions of followers, matte lips were actually popular in the 1990’s.

Matte lipstick is an incredible way to showcase your pout. The great thing about a matte finish is that the color lasts longer. Gone are the days of formulas that dry your lips or need lip balm.

Our very own Velvet Mousse Lip Color stays put, applies in just a single swipe and won’t feel dry. For a little Jenner-inspired glam, try Velvet Rose before your next selfie!

First, there was ombre skirts or dip-die, then ombre hair, now we have ombre lips! This daring lip trend is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re wanting to pump up the volume, this look is easy to recreate.

For ombre lips, use take 2 complimentary shades, one lighter, one darker and use them to create definition and a focal point. On Emily Blunt, we see that she’s wearing a purple-based red on the outer corners, lower lip line, and cupid’s bow. Her lips are then filled in with a true, cherry red.

Try this look for yourself with our Napa Wine lipstick at the outer corners, and filling in the look with Cherry Pie. The secret to this look is to blend, blend blend. Voila, you’re ready for your own red carpet moment!

How do you Nude?

Another popular lip style that’s enjoyed its time in the spotlight is the nude lip. Not to be confused with pinks, the nude lip has the power to create that come-hither moment. The idea behind the nude lip is to emphasize your lips but keeping the look au natural – as seen on one of my favorite actresses, Priyanka Chopra.

Try the look with our Soft Redwood lipstick, finishing it with our Oak Lip Definer to lock in your color. These are earthy shades, perfect for day, evening, or weekend brunch!

Shine On

Of course, we can’t forget about another lip look that’s synonymous with summer – the glossy lip! Lip gloss has been taking a back seat to its matte counterpart over the last few years, but slowly, it’s poised for a comeback.

Lipgloss can be worn in so many different ways, from an opaque lacquer to a sheer wash of color. Jennifer Lopez’s look is quintessential glam – try it using either end of our Oak / Coco Beige Lip Definer Duo and top it off with our Crystal Lip Luster for a look that’s all you!
